Rialto, California Description
Rialto is a city located in San Bernardino County, California, United States. It is situated in the Inland Empire region of Southern California and has a population of over 100,000 people. The city is located just east of the San Bernardino Mountains and is bordered by Fontana to the north, San Bernardino to the east, Colton to the south and Riverside County to the west.
Rialto has a rich history that dates back to its founding in 1887 when it was first established as an agricultural community. The city was named after the Rialto Bridge in Venice, Italy and was originally known as "Rialto Junction". Over time, Rialto grew into a thriving industrial center with many factories and warehouses being built throughout the area.
Today, Rialto is home to a diverse population with many different cultures represented in its population. The city offers plenty of recreational activities for residents including parks, golf courses, shopping centers and more. There are also several educational institutions located within Rialto such as Crafton Hills College and California State University San Bernardino.
The economy of Rialto is largely based on manufacturing and distribution with many companies having their headquarters or major operations located within the city limits. Additionally, there are several medical facilities located within Rialto including Loma Linda University Medical Center which serves as one of the largest hospitals in Southern California.
