Palo Alto is a city located in the San Francisco Bay Area of California, USA. It is situated in the northwest corner of Santa Clara County and is bordered by East Palo Alto, Mountain View, Los Altos, and Stanford University. The city has a population of approximately 67,000 people and covers an area of 25 square miles.
Palo Alto is known for its high-tech industry and its many start-up companies. It is home to several major tech companies such as Hewlett Packard Enterprise, VMware, Tesla Motors, and Facebook. The city also has a vibrant cultural scene with numerous art galleries, museums, theaters, and music venues.
The climate in Palo Alto is mild year-round with temperatures rarely dropping below freezing or rising above 85 degrees Fahrenheit. Rainfall averages around 20 inches per year with most precipitation occurring during the winter months.
Palo Alto offers a variety of recreational activities including biking trails along the San Francisquito Creek Trail and hiking trails at Foothills Park.
