Manteca, California is a city located in San Joaquin County, in the Central Valley of California. It is situated about 70 miles east of San Francisco and about 40 miles south of Sacramento. The city has a population of around 75,000 people and covers an area of approximately 18 square miles.

Manteca was founded in 1861 by Joshua Cowell, who named the town after his family’s hometown in Italy. The city has grown steadily over the years and is now home to a variety of businesses, including retail stores, restaurants, and manufacturing plants.

The climate in Manteca is generally mild with hot summers and cool winters. Average temperatures range from the mid-50s to mid-90s throughout the year. Rainfall is light but consistent throughout the year with an average annual precipitation of around 20 inches.

In addition to public schools, there are also several private schools located within the city limits as well as nearby colleges such as University of California Merced and San Joaquin Delta College which offer higher education opportunities for students living in or near Manteca.
