Lake Arrowhead, California Description
Lake Arrowhead is a beautiful mountain resort town located in the San Bernardino Mountains of Southern California. It is situated at an elevation of 5,174 feet and is surrounded by lush pine forests, crystal clear lakes, and breathtaking views of the surrounding mountains. The area is known for its mild climate and abundant outdoor activities such as fishing, boating, hiking, biking, camping, skiing, snowboarding, and more.
The lake itself is a large reservoir that was created in 1920 when the Little Bear Creek Dam was built. It covers an area of approximately 2.5 square miles and has a maximum depth of about 70 feet. The lake is stocked with rainbow trout and other species of fish making it a popular spot for anglers. There are also several marinas located around the lake offering boat rentals and other services.
The town itself has a population of about 12,000 people and offers plenty of shopping opportunities as well as restaurants and entertainment venues. There are also several golf courses in the area as well as ski resorts nearby for those looking to hit the slopes during winter months.
