Laguna Niguel is a city located in Orange County, California, United States. It is bordered by the cities of Aliso Viejo, Dana Point, Laguna Beach, Mission Viejo, San Juan Capistrano and San Clemente. The city has a population of 63,000 and covers an area of 14.1 square miles.
The city was incorporated in 1989 and is known for its rolling hills and coastal views. It is home to several parks including Crown Valley Community Park, Laguna Niguel Regional Park and Salt Creek Beach Park. The city also features several shopping centers such as the Shops at Mission Viejo and the Kaleidoscope Courtyard Shopping Center.
Laguna Niguel is home to many schools including Niguel Hills Middle School, Aliso Niguel High School and Saddleback College. The city also has a variety of restaurants ranging from fast food to fine dining establishments.
The climate in Laguna Niguel is Mediterranean with mild winters and warm summers. Average temperatures range from 50°F (10°C) in the winter to 75°F (24°C) in the summer months. The area receives an average of 13 inches (33 cm) of rain per year with most precipitation occurring during the winter months.
Laguna Niguel offers residents a variety of recreational activities including golfing at El Niguel Country Club or hiking at Aliso & Wood Canyons Wilderness Park.
