Blythe is a small city located in Riverside County, California, United States. It is situated along the Colorado River, near the Arizona border. The population of Blythe was estimated to be 20,817 in 2019.
The city is known for its hot desert climate and its proximity to the Colorado River. The average temperature in Blythe ranges from highs of over 100°F (38°C) during the summer months to lows of around 40°F (4°C) during the winter months.
Blythe is home to several attractions including the Palo Verde Historical Museum, which showcases artifacts from the area’s past; and the Blythe Intaglios, a series of ancient geoglyphs carved into the desert floor by Native Americans. The city also hosts an annual rodeo and fair each year in October.
