Apple Valley, California Description
Apple Valley is a town located in the Victor Valley of San Bernardino County, California. It is situated in the Mojave Desert, at the base of the San Bernardino Mountains. The town has a population of over 72,000 people and covers an area of 73.2 square miles.
The town was founded in 1988 and is known for its rural atmosphere and wide open spaces. Apple Valley is home to many parks, trails, and recreational areas including the Mojave Narrows Regional Park, which offers camping, fishing, boating, and hiking opportunities. The town also has several golf courses and a large shopping center with many stores and restaurants.
The climate in Apple Valley is generally hot during summer months with temperatures reaching up to 100 degrees Fahrenheit (38 degrees Celsius). Winters are mild with temperatures rarely dropping below freezing. The area receives an average of 8 inches (20 cm) of rain per year.
Apple Valley is served by two school districts: Apple Valley Unified School District and Victor Elementary School District. There are several higher education institutions located nearby including Victor Valley College and University of California Riverside-Palm Desert Campus.
