Pine, Arizona Description
Pine, Arizona is a small town located in the Mogollon Rim region of the state. It is situated in the Tonto National Forest and is surrounded by lush pine forests and stunning mountain views. The town has a population of just over 1,000 people and is known for its rural charm and laid-back atmosphere.
The town was founded in 1879 as a logging camp, but it quickly grew into a thriving community with a variety of businesses, including sawmills, general stores, saloons, and hotels. Today, Pine remains an unincorporated community that offers visitors a unique glimpse into the past.
The main attraction in Pine is its historic downtown area which features several buildings from the late 19th century. These include the old Pine Hotel, which was built in 1885 and now serves as a museum; the old Pine General Store; and the old Pine Saloon. Visitors can also explore nearby Fossil Creek Canyon or take part in outdoor activities such as fishing, camping, hiking, horseback riding, and more.
Pine also offers plenty of dining options ranging from casual cafes to fine dining restaurants. There are also several art galleries showcasing local artwork as well as gift shops selling handmade items from local artisans. The town also hosts several annual events such as the Pine Festival in June and the Christmas Parade in December.
