Goodyear, AZ is a city located in Maricopa County, Arizona. It is a suburb of Phoenix and is located about 20 miles west of downtown Phoenix. The city was founded in 1917 by the Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company and was named after the company. The city has grown rapidly since then and now has a population of over 79,000 people.
Goodyear is known for its many parks and recreational activities. It has over 30 parks, including Estrella Mountain Regional Park which offers camping, hiking, biking, fishing, and more. The city also has several golf courses, including Palm Valley Golf Club which is one of the top-rated courses in the state.
The city also has a vibrant arts scene with several galleries and museums such as the Arizona Museum of Natural History and the Goodyear Arts Center. There are also many festivals throughout the year such as the Goodyear Balloon Festival which features hot air balloons from around the world.
Goodyear is home to several major employers such as Amazon Fulfillment Center, Lockheed Martin Aeronautics Company, and Banner Health System. The city also has a strong education system with several public schools as well as private schools like Veritas Preparatory Academy.
Goodyear is an ideal place to live for those who want to be close to Phoenix but still enjoy small-town living with plenty of outdoor activities nearby.
