Pell City, Alabama Description
Pell City, Alabama is a small city located in St. Clair County, about 30 miles east of Birmingham. It is situated on the banks of Logan Martin Lake and has a population of around 12,000 people. The city was founded in 1887 and named after railroad magnate George Washington Pell.
The city is known for its beautiful scenery and outdoor activities. There are several parks located throughout the city, including the Pell City Civic Center Park which features a walking track, playgrounds, picnic areas, and a lakefront boardwalk. The nearby Logan Martin Lake offers plenty of opportunities for fishing, boating, swimming, and other water sports.
The downtown area of Pell City is home to many unique shops and restaurants that offer a variety of goods and services. There are also several art galleries that showcase local artwork as well as national touring exhibits. The city also hosts several annual festivals such as the Pell City Arts Festival and the Pell City Music Festival which feature live music from local bands as well as nationally recognized acts.
