Hoover, Alabama Description
Hoover, AL is a city located in the Birmingham-Hoover metropolitan area of Alabama. It is the second largest city in the state and has a population of 84,848 as of 2019. The city was founded in 1967 and is named after William H. Hoover, who was an early settler in the area.
Hoover is known for its excellent school system, which includes Hoover High School, Spain Park High School, and Hoover City Schools. The city also has several parks and recreational areas such as Aldridge Creek Greenway, Moss Rock Preserve, and Veterans Park.
The city has a vibrant economy with many businesses located in the Riverchase Galleria shopping mall. There are also numerous restaurants and entertainment venues throughout the city.
Hoover is home to several annual events such as the Hoover Met Complex Summer Concert Series, Hoover Public Library Summer Reading Program, and the Hoover Arts Festival.
