Cullman, Alabama Description
Cullman, AL is a city located in the north-central part of the state, about 50 miles north of Birmingham. It is the county seat of Cullman County and has a population of around 15,000 people. The city was founded in 1873 by German immigrants and was named after Colonel John G. Cullmann, who was an early settler in the area.
The city is known for its historic downtown area which features many old buildings that have been preserved from the 19th century. There are also several parks and recreational areas throughout the city including Smith Lake Park, Heritage Park, and Sportsman Lake Park. The city also has a vibrant arts scene with several galleries and museums such as the Cullman County Museum of Art & History and the Cullman Civic Center.
