A 4,600+ square-foot home on the Hudson River waterfront\u2014deemed \u201clegally haunted\u201d by the Supreme Court\u2014<\/span>is back on the market<\/span><\/a>. The home is equipped with five bedrooms, stained glass windows, a pool overlooking the river, and apparently some spooky spirits. All of it could be yours for just under $2 million.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The late 19th-century property is located in Nyack, New York. According to former owner Helen Ackley, she and her family weren\u2019t alone in the house. The woman claimed ghosts from the Revolutionary War would interact with her family regularly from the 1960s through the 80s. In 1977, Ackley told Reader\u2019s Digest her daughter\u2019s bed would shake in the middle of the night from paranormal activity.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The mansion, aptly named the \u201cGhost House,\u201d soon encountered more trouble. Jeffrey Stambosky, who was under contract to buy Ackley\u2019s home, sued Ackley when he found out the home was haunted. The Supreme Court found Stambosky\u2019s claim legitimate, and he was able to legally exit the contract. After the case, the home was declared \u201clegally haunted.\u201d\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Nancy Blaker Weber, the realtor for the property, insisted the home was a peaceful place to reside. \u201cIt\u2019s a fun backstory to this gorgeous home, (but) if there\u2019s anything I\u2019ve felt, it is the warmth and creative spirit that exists in this beautiful home. I\u2019ve never experienced anything that would lead me to feel it\u2019s haunted.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

Several high-profile people have lived in the “Ghost House” since Ackley sold the property including: movie director Adam Brooks, singer Ingrid Michaelson, and rapper Matisyahu.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
