Billionaires’ Row
Posted March 30, 2010 by Matthew Denton
You’ll be surprised who has not moved in another mansion for decades.

When somebody’s a billionaire, all things he owns are synonymous to pure luxury. So the homes of the billionaires compiled by Forbes Magazine are not only mega-mansions in their own right but more of places with sentimental value. Take Bill Gates’ 66,000-square-foot compound on the edge of Lake Washington. It has the all the amenities that would keep you a home buddy once you live in it. Here’s a tour of the house (albeit a virtual one, you know Bill Gates wouldn’t reveal live what’s inside):
Larry Ellison, Oracle CEO, was inspired by Kyoto, Japan that he decided it was perfect to spend $200 million for this beauty in Austin, TX:
Steel magnate Lakshmi Mittal has every opportunity to be proud of his Kensington mansion in London which he paid for $128 million. And yes, it can accommodate 20 cars. Check the property at 2:12 in this video:
George Lucas wouldn’t mind sharing his interiors and landscape to viewers. The Star Wars honcho lives in the 5,156-acre Skywalker Ranch in Marin County, CA. Watch this great cinematographic piece:
If you’re finding customs, then Mukesh Ambani’s family skyscraper is the thing for you. Called the “Antilla”, the Mumbai, India property has no two floor plans alike filled with lavish ornaments. Here’s what it looks like:
And the best mansion? I’d have to say Warren Buffett’s 6,000-square-foot mansion in Omaha, NE (where else do you think?). It’s not something that I’d be more impressed compared to Bill Gates’ secluded mansion or Larry Ellison’s Asian-inspired property but the fact that Buffett has lived in the home since 1958, makes me realize that wise billionaires don’t just go on a shopping spree every day. They buy wisely. Here’s a link to the image.
In the words of Buffett, “...Price is what you pay. Value is what you get.”
