Pier 39 is a large open-area pier with lots of attractions. There is an aquarium where you actually go under the bay and look at all of the great marine life close-up! They also have a petting area where you can explore underwater animals hands-on. There are always a myriad of street performers, from break dancers to “robots” to impromptu magic shows… Even world-famous magician David Blaine has been known to perform here! There are also boat rentals to take either guided tours of the Bay, or venture out on your own. When you get hungry, Bubba Gump Shrimp Co. has great seafood, and it is, of course, very fresh! After lunch, head over to The Fudge House and get some of their freshly made confections. There are many different shops to pick up souvenirs from. And if you want to just go fishing, you are free to do so (without a fishing license).
