Mystic Aquarium & Institute for Exploration

Posted October 18, 2008 by Ima Local

The Mystic Aquarium & Institute for Exploration has something for everyone.  There are so many different animal exhibits that you feel like you are visiting different parts of the world.  I would highly recommend seeing the Dolphin Show.  If you check the areas where the seats are damp you can decide if you want to get wet or not.  The kids love getting splashed by dolphins.  They also have a Beluga and a Penguin Encounter now where you are able to touch these magnificent animals. The Aquarium is located in the magnificent town of Mystic, CT where there are tons of shops, the Mystic Seaport and an abundance of restaurants.  If you are only able to visit the town for one day I would suggest concentrating on the Aquarium, especially in the spring and summer when you do not mind walking the outdoor exhibits. There is so much to see that I would suggest looking at all the exhibit and show information on their website and sitting down with your kids.  Let them select a few things they really want to see.  It is a huge place where you may not get to see everything.  Do not miss something you or your children would really love to see.
