Georgia Aquarium

Posted October 18, 2008 by Ima Local

When near the Atlanta area, the Georgia Aquarium is must-see for everyone.  There are so many huge aquariums and neat exhibits that kids and parents alike will find something to enjoy.  Tickets are somewhat expensive, so it’s best to make a day out of your visit.  Parking is readily available.  The garage owned and operated by the aquarium is the one I would recommend using. You can buy your tickets and parking passes on-line, which is a nice time-saver.  No outside food or beverages are allowed in the aquarium and they are pretty thorough about checking bags.  The Cafe has a pretty wide range of food but, as can be expected, it’s pretty pricey for what you get.  I would recommend eating before you go.  There is a special kids area with a huge slide, which is great for letting restless little ones get a little energy out.  One feature that my kids really liked was the observation bubble in the penguin exhibit.  You crawl through a tunnel and come up eye-to-eye with the penguins.  The building is pretty state-of-the-art and very secure.  It’s located in downtown Atlanta near the new Coca Cola World and Centinneal Olympic Park.  There is a lot to see and it’s very kid-friendly.
