Fort Worth Museum of Science and History

Posted October 24, 2008 by Ima Local

My children loved to visit the Fort Worth Museum of Science and History. The Dino Dig is a big attraction, it’s fun to pretend you are a fossil hunter! They have a Kidspace attraction, and a Hands on lab. Currently they are exhibiting a ‘Dinosaur Roundup’. Their attractions rotate so it’s always different everytime you go. If you prefer to sit and relax then you can take in an Omni IMax theater presentation. This is definitely a place to bring the whole family.  Even the gift shop is fun to browse, and reasonably priced. Currently they are still in construction, but the Omni theater is open and some exhibits are being housed temporarily at the National Cowgirl Museum and Hall of Fame, just down the street. The new building opening will be in the fall of ‘09. Anytime of year is a great time to go. We’ve been on week ends and during the week, and while it is a little busier on the weekend, it didn’t hinder our enjoyment. The staff is friendly and it’s very easy to navigate, the children like to lead here and do! This is a very hands on place, and a great experience for all ages.
