Flapjack Festival - Land O Lakes, FL
Posted July 15, 2008 by Town Genius
I live in Land O Lakes, Florida, which is in Pasco County, just a few miles north of Tampa. We have an annual festival called The Flapjack Festival. It is during the fall and runs for 3 days.
There is a parade in which local businesses, sports teams, schools, etc. have “floats”..usually decorated pick-up trucks pulling trailers. There is a mid-way, lots of food from local restaurants and churches. There is also an area for local retailers to sell their wares.
The highlight of the festival is the free pancake breakfasts that are given out on the mornings of the festivals…but you better get there early to ensure getting one. This is something that all the local people attend. It’s a great time to catch up with people you don’t see very often. The kids love the children’s rides as well as the swings and stuff at the park where it is held. There is something for everyone to enjoy.
The schools in the area consistently receive high marks, although at this time they are a little overcrowded because we have so many new people moving into the area. Lots of new schools are being built however. There are now a lot of choices as far as restaurants go. Many are waterfront so the scenery is great! You can get seafood, steaks, italtian, american, cuban, spanish, or chinese; not to mention the usual fast food places.
Right now shopping is limited to Kmart, Walmart and Target but in a few month there is going to be a huge mall opening just a few miles east of Land O Lakes.

Hello,
[edited]
I have a question. Is there tables and chairs for eating at the Land O’ Lakes flap Jack festival?
Best regards,
Don
