Denver’s LoDo District: A Cool Place to Live or Hang Out
Posted March 24, 2008 by Realty.com Editor
The Lower Downtown area of Denver, known as LoDo is a 25 block neighborhood running north of Larimer Street between 14th and 22nd. LoDo used to be a run down area but has been transformed since 1995 when the Coors Field stadium was built. It’s now the hippest area in the city with a mixture of cool new housing and nightlife.
The exciting architecture and the social buzz of the area are what makes it unique. Converted warehouses make great housing and a great backdrop to the huge number of restaurants, bars, jazz clubs, shops, art galleries and the like.
The area appeals to a wide age range. Indeed America’s oldest CEO, Jack Weil, of Rockmount Ranch wear goes to work every day at the company he founded and he’s over 100 years old. However, many of the districts visitors are the young and the trendy of Denver as well as many visitors.
Like all of Denver it’s good to visit, or even set up business, in LoDo at any time of year. The area has immense appeal.
