Why should parents bring their kids here?
This is a hands-on exhibit where children are able to interact with the exhibits.

What are some of the attractions features?
Exhibits cover arts, sciences culture and other topics of interests. They also have outdoor courtyarrd and a secret garden to explore.
What is a good time to go?
Monday - Saturday: 10am to 5pm
Sunday: 1 to 5pm
Closed: New Year’s Day
Day before & Thanksgiving

$8 per person
Children under 12 months: FREE
Military (with valid ID): $7 each
Seniors: $7 each

What part of town is it located? It is on the west edge of town near the Cape Fear River? Is this a mostly a kid-only establishment?  Marketed toward all people (families, young adults, adults)?
It is geared specifically for children ages 1 through 8. They are infant friendly, having a private area for mothers with nursing infants.

Describe the event/establishment.  What does it look like?  What stands out the most? This is a hands-on children’s museum, where children literally interact with the items on exhibit. What other museum lets you play with the artifacts?
The secret garden is also a blast and gets children out to enjoy the fresh air as well. They also have castles and sand scoops so children can build.

Is it safe?
They have a very active safety patrol.

Recommended foods, rides, services, features?
There is so much to do at the museum a child could spend an entire day there and not interact with all the activities. There is not one specific area that sticks out because children seem to enjoy all the areas and think they are great fun. Of course toddlers will have some restrictions and specific age-appropriate events. As an adult, my favorite is the Secret Garden.
