Parents, be sure to take the kids to the Children’s Museum of Illinois in Decatur - where children play to learn, and adults learn to play! There are two floors of hands-on interactive exhibits to explore. Sensory House, Plexi-Painting, Water Works Water Table, Virtual Reality and Bubble Mania are just a few of the mind-challenging attractions. There is over 10,000 square feet in the museum, which provides realistic experiences such as flying in a plane, climbing a sculpture, making electricity or creating huge bubbles. Kids can use their imagination by becoming a paramedic or a grocery shopper at Johnston’s Supermarket. They’ll love watching a boat go through the Panama Canal and learning much about life in other countries. Discover fun facts about science art, and different cultures. The cost of admission is reasonable for an exciting day of learning that the kids will remember for a long time. The museum is open daily except Mondays.
