Carter Toy Museum
Posted October 16, 2008 by Ima Local
This Museum is absolutely a hidden gem in Central Indiana. It is open Tuesday - Saturday from 11 a.m. - 5 p.m. The cost of admission is extremely reasonable with adults costing $7, seniors $6, and children $4. Once inside, this museum is unlike anything you have ever seen. The basement is host to every coin operated ride you could ever imagine. For a quarter each, my daughter fell in love with the mechanical train and elephant. Alongside the coin operated rides, is a mini bumper car rink.
If rides aren’t your thing, the second and third floors house some of the most extensive toy collections known to man. The second floor also boasts a great merry-go-round for the little ones. The best part is that Mr. Carter usually is the operator.
Carter’s Toy Museum is housed in a quaint colonial house in the center of downtown Zionsville. The building is also home to the Old Tyme Soda Shop which is as cute as its name and has equally good food. The atmosphere in both establishments is inviting and family friendly. Make sure to keep this place in mind for birthday parties! “
