Boston Freedom Trail
Posted March 26, 2008 by Realty.com Editor
The Freedom Trail is one of the earliest walking tours in the US and is one of the best ways of seeing Boston. The walk includes sixteen different historical sites and takes the average walker less than three hours to complete. However, it’s possible to spend more than a day on the walk if you stop to take in all of the attractions along the way.
It’s hard to get lost as the entire walk is marked with a red line, either painted or set in brick. If you don’t want to organize your own walk, the National Park Service provide guided tours which start every thirty minutes from the visitor center at 15 State Street, which is right across from the Old State House.
If walking isn’t your thing it is also possible to take a trolley tour. Although these aren’t official tours they do tend to stop at most of the key sites along the Trail. You can get plenty of extra information about visiting Boston at: http://www.bostonusa.com/visitor/visitor.php.
