Blaine Kern’s Mardi Gras World
Posted October 21, 2008 by Ima Local
Bring kids to see how the floats are made for the parade. During the tour, visitors learn about the many traditions surrounding Mardi Gras parades, balls and music, as well as the intricacies of float designing and building. You are encouraged to bring cramas to have kids photographed beside King Kong, Marilyn Monroe and other props. After a short video you can dress up in authentic, ornate carnival costumes. Mardi Gras World is located just across the Mississippi River from downtown New Orleans. Tours are daily from 9:30 a.m to 4:30 p.m. All tours include free King Cake & Coffee! Don’t forget to visit the gift shop to pick up some cool stuff to take home!
