Bishop Museum

Posted October 20, 2008 by Ima Local

Though it is always fun to take the family to Waikiki Beach, and no trip to Honolulu would be complete without going to the beach, one of the real gems in the city is the Bishop Museum. The museum is open from 9 to 5, seven days a week, except for Christmas and features a number of Hawaii related exhibits including a collection of Polynesian artifacts, and a similar hall with just Hawaiian artifacts. There is also a science room specializing in sciences popular in Hawaii such as oceanography, vulcanology, and biodiversity. Another interesting exhibit is the Hawaii Sports Hall of Fame. The museum also has a planetarium, and many daily tours, which I highly recommend. So, if you get sick of the beach (haha) or want to do something educational on your trip, I highly recommend the Bishop Museum.
