Asheville, North Carolina Bele Chere Festival http://www.belecherefestival.com/
Bele Chere is an annual festival held in Asheville, North Carolina, at the end of July. Asheville is a beautiful town nestled in the Blue Ridge Mountains, and boasts an eclectic mix of people including everyone from businessmen to hippies and punks. Every year the city of Asheville closes off the downtown streets for a huge city party. Wristbands are sold for a couple of dollars to those who want to drink in the streets, and there are around six to eight musical stages set up with regional bands playing for free.
There are all kinds of food vendors, arts and crafts, events, and performance artists, all on top of the usual shops and local eateries downtown. One of the city’s biggest festivals, Bele Chere is an event well worth a visit to Asheville.
