Annual Great American Rib Cook-Off - Cleveland, OH
Posted July 15, 2008 by user-submitted-content
Cleveland is a great and beautiful city despite what people may think about it. There are three major sports teams in the Indians, Cavaliers, and Browns for any sports fan’s needs. Other than sports attractions, we have the Cleveland Orchestra, the Rock N Roll Hall of Fame, Museums, Great Lakes Science Center, and much more! It is a beautiful city located right on the Cuyahoga River and close to Lake Erie.
Every year on Memorial Day weekend, Cleveland is host to the Great American Rib Cook-off. It is a competition for chefs from around the country to compete for the prize of best barbecue. It is also a great festival for Cleveland residents to come and experience some of the nation’s best barbecue while enjoying right on the riverfront. The Cook-off lasts all weekend and the competition is held on Memorial Day for those who enter. Northeast Ohio experiences great weather year round, with an actual change of seasons.
Every Memorial Day, I await this fun festival so that I can reunite with other Clevelanders who I see every year. This is truly one of the events that makes me glad I live in Cleveland, Ohio.
