Alexandria Zoological Park

Posted October 21, 2008 by Ima Local

Take the kids to Alexandria Zoological Park, an award-winning 33-acre zoo in Alexandria, Louisiana. The kids will enjoy viewing over 600 animals. This can be an educational experience like no other for adults and children alike. One spectacular exhibit is The African Experience. There is a 17-foot waterfall in addition to dwarf, Nile, and slender-snout crocodiles. The large glass viewing windows make it possible for children to get very close to the reptiles. Unusual porcupines, African lions, parrots, raptors and the African clawed frog can be seen. Another exciting exhibit is The Louisiana Habitat, covering over three acres, which has natural habitat exhibits for many native species of the swamplands. The kids will enjoy identifying animal tracks on the walkways, riding on a miniature train, and playing on the playground. Visit Alexandria Zoological Park all year round, every day from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. They are only closed on Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year’s Day.
